Change Android 10 Gestures: On Android 10, Gesture navigation has received mixed reviews with some users who prefer screen buttons to go back and forth. Although Android still needs to soften it with its older system comments, gestures are here to stay. So it’s best left to imitate using them and tweak parts of it for your own advantage.
Unfortunately, now you can use the navigation strip at the bottom to go back to the earlier screen through this workaround. You can use this method if you’re searching it hard to swipe from either side of the screen to go back or if you might drop your phone doing so
At first, Download and install the gesturePlus app from Google Play Store.
Then Open the gesturePlus app.
Click Next at the bottom.
Click on Launch Actions.
Enable the app accessibility permission, by choosing the gesturePlus app on the Accessibility page.
Now switch the toggle adjacent to Use service to ON.
When prompted for confirmation, click on Allow.
Click on Done on the app’s setup screen. You will now arrive at the gesturePlus home screen.
Click on Actions.
Under ‘Standard action‘, click on Single press.
Choose Back from the list of actions to enable hitting on the navigation strip to trigger the back action.
Alternatively, you can select other actions from this list including:
- Opening the camera
- Dialer app
- Taking a screenshot
- Triggering an app’s shortcut
- Opening an app
- Launch the Google Assistant
- Open Settings etc…
By choosing back, you can now go back to the earlier screen by clicking the navigation strip at the bottom.
Additionally, you can select to trigger the back action on the lock screen by opening the gesturePlus app, clicking on Actions, clicking on Single press under ‘Action on lock screen‘, and selecting Back.
